 Working From Home Memes

Whether you're freelancing or a full-time contractor, we simplify the working process, putting you in control.

Try it free

When you work remotely, memes aren’t just funny pictures — they essentially become a second language. We use them to communicate and bond with colleagues, pass some time during a boring Zoom call, or simply try to stay sane.

I’ve made a compilation of funny and relatable memes about:

  • Zoom calls and camera anxiety
  • Wfh dress code (or total lack of it)
  • Losing all sense of time
  • Pets and kids vs work
  • Companies pushing office-first agenda
  • Procrastination
  • Expectations vs reality
  • Awkward moments and everyday struggles

They’re all about working from home and freelancing. I’m sure you’ll see yourself in at least a few of them. Now, let the fun begin.

A meme from a movie scene with a boss saying to his employee, “If you could at least pretend to work from home, that would be great.”

Meeting your coworkers in person for the first time

If you’ve been in this situation, you know how awkward and even weird it can be. You’ve been working side by side for months or even years. You come to the office and those first few seconds feel like eternity — it’s someone you know, but you’re not 100% sure.

Big Bird from the Sesame Street show sitting awkwardly in a boardroom surrounded by human-looking coworkers.
Send this meme before the meeting to break the ice or just keep it in your back pocket for moral support.

Feeling yourself during a work call

It’s a boring meeting. You zoned out five minutes ago. Your coffee’s gone cold. The only person holding your attention? You. In the corner of the Zoom window. Looking pretty cute, let’s be honest.

Dennis Reynolds looking flirtatious with the caption saying “Me looking at myself on zoom while the other person is talking.”
It’s hard not to look at yourself when you’re the prettiest person in the meeting…
A scruffy god representing being on an audio call only and a put together dog wearing a shirt and sunglasses representing a video call appearance.

The art of getting ready in no time

What do you do with all that extra time that you’re not commuting? Some wake up early, go for a run, and make a protein-rich breakfast. But not you. Because you’ve mastered the art of hopping on an important video call straight out of bed.

A meme featuring a split screen with two images. The top one with a man sleeping in his bed peacefully and the clock showing 7:59 A.M. In the bottom image, it’s 8:01 A.M. and the employee is already in a work meeting.
Shirt and tie on top paired with pajama pants for comfort. That’s what we call remote work chic.
Gretchen Goldman shared her setup after being in an online interview on television. The picture reveals she’s surrounded by children’s toys, her laptop is set on a chair on top of a coffee table while she’s wearing a jacket and no pants.
Working from home saves time on commute, allows for a more relaxed dress code, and helps you get cozy. There’s truly nothing better than working in the comfort of your own home.
A man at a work call concealing the fact he’s sitting in a jacuzzi post-party surrounded by empty alcohol bottles.

Staying organised doesn’t always work

Weekdays and weekends blend together, merging into a simple passing of time. What day is it today? Doesn’t matter. Time isn’t real anyway.

Seven identical Spider Men pointing at each other, each representing a day of the week.
You work from home and you rest at home. Here’s a reminder we should all leave our houses once in a while.
A medieval-style illustration featuring a scholar trying to focus, surrounded by demonic distractions and an angel. The meme caption says, “Working from home with ADHD be like.”
I don’t have ADHD, but I can still totally relate. Can you?
A woman in bed in her pajamas replying to a work email.

Anti-remote companies be like

Remote jobs in 2025 are scarce. Well, at least we have a lot of hybrid work options still, right? We technically do, but too many companies think hybrid means going to the office four days a week…

They make people go back to the office, but somehow the meetings are still on Teams and Zoom?

An ironic meme with Drake featuring a split screen. The top one is refusing to work from home, and the bottom one is content with going to the office but having all meetings on Teams.
They say it’s about the company culture; that’s why they need you in the office.
Top picture: a man being happy when there is a whm option. Bottom picture: a man being shocked when there is no such option.
We all want to have our options, don’t we?

Real question though, why is there always a person like this in your company if it is so strict on the office-first policy?

Ellen DeGeneres relaxing at her luxurious vacation home with a caption saying “Your HR Director that won’t approve any WFH requests but spends the entire summer in the Hamptons for 'personal reasons.' ‍
A woman biting her laptop out of frustration because the meeting she was invited to could’ve been an email.

Pets vs you working from home

Cats and dogs make almost everything in life better. The only exception is work calls. It’s as if they do it on purpose — meowing and barking and jumping on you at the worst possible moment.

A meme captioned “How to prepare for a Zoom meeting” with a cat taped to the wall so it’s not disturbing the owner.
Pets make calls more fun. Why try to hide them? Let them say hi.
A cat lying on the laptop is preventing the owner from working from home.

Kids vs you working from home

Having kids while you work remotely… Is it a blessing or a curse? To each their own, but here’s something you need to know before you try — things never go as planned.

A man at a work call with his two small kids in the background.
We don’t choose our background. But we can choose how we feel about it.

And 99% of the time, you can forget about the work-life balance.

A meme with a cartoon character with dark undereye circles captioned “Me trying to balance being a mom, working remotely, doing housework, working out, and having a social life.”
Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs in the world.
A humorous picture of a parent working from home while the kids are taped to the floor with the “Working from home as a parent” caption.
A woman with a lizard on her head and a girl peeking into the camera, captioned “Me in a Zoom meeting. My toddler. My 6 yo.”

We listen and we don’t judge

To finish off, here are some 100% random memes we could never relate to. Never.

Kriss Jenner in a bathtub with a martini by her side, looking surprised and concerned, captioned “Everyone please turn your cameras on for this meeting.”
This one takes me back to the old days when wfh just became a thing. Everyone I knew was doing a cheeky self-pampering routine during work hours.
A meme with a woman at her computer in the ocean describing a situation when your manager declined your vacation request.
I can name more than five people who’ve done that and remained unnoticed…
Macaulay Culkin on his laptop with his belly full and a plate of food in his hand, and the caption saying “Boss: you free to video chat?” ‍
A meme with a woman starting work at home at 9 AM and falling asleep at 9:12 AM. ‍
A man only wearing his underwear sitting at his computer with the caption saying “When your boss asks you to join a video conference.” ‍
Sleepy cat with the caption saying, “Yup… Working from home today.”
A man looking sad at a desk, on the phone, on a swing, and standing alone, with the “Work from home” caption.
A meme with Matthew McConaughey looking less and less organised working from home from day 1 to day 4.
Michael Scott from The Office looking concerned with the caption saying “When you accidentally share the wrong screen.”
A meme with a cartoon character looking like it’s trying to ignore the problem — when your boss asks for a report ASAP, but you’re at Target buying pumpkin spiced candles. ‍
Leonardo DiCaprio raising a glass with the caption saying, “They used to call this day drinking, now they call it working from home.”
Remote work expectations: organised at your desk. Reality: stirring a meal you’re cooking while on a work call.
Rebel Wilson looking lost, and the caption saying “You work from home. Someone asks you how long it has been since you left your house.”
A scene from the Devil Wears Prada with the altered lines: “Are you wearing the…” “The same sweatpants as yesterday? Yeah, I am.” ‍
Working from home day 1 vs day 5.
A shirtless man on his laptop, captioned “Working from home without AC.”
What I thought I’d look like from home vs what I actually look like.

Work, remote or not, can be really stressful and frustrating. But next time you feel overwhelmed, try fighting your challenges with humor — one work meme at a time. And always remember: work is just work.
